Gameplay Programming Portfolio

This portfolio showcases three playable prototypes developed in Unreal Engine 5 between 2020 and 2025 as part of my journey toward becoming a Gameplay Programmer.

Rather than focusing on art production, these projects were designed to demonstrate gameplay programming, reusable systems and technical problem solving. Each prototype explores a different area of gameplay development while remaining fully playable.

Included Prototypes

Prototype 01 — Structural Damage Framework

A third-person combat prototype focused on modular gameplay architecture.

This prototype demonstrates a reusable structural damage framework where enemies, the player and environmental objects all react through the same interface-driven communication system. Damage is processed contextually, allowing actors to determine how to respond depending on the impact received.

Technical Highlights

  • Localized structural damage
  • Reusable destruction framework
  • Interface-driven communication
  • Dynamic component reconstruction

Prototype 02 — Procedural World Framework

A survival prototype focused on procedural gameplay systems.

The world is streamed dynamically using a grid-based tile manager that maintains an active 3×3 world around the player. Enemy population scales continuously while the player's own structure becomes both their health and ammunition, creating a resource-driven combat mechanic.

Technical Highlights

  • Dynamic tile streaming
  • Grid-based world management
  • Exponential enemy spawning
  • Resource-driven combat mechanics

Prototype 03 — Complete Gameplay Loop

A complete first-person gameplay experience featuring exploration, progression and AI encounters.

Originally developed as part of a structured Unreal Engine course and later expanded into a complete playable experience. This prototype demonstrates player progression, objective-driven gameplay, user feedback systems and multi-level flow.

Technical Highlights

  • Complete gameplay loop
  • Multi-level progression
  • Dynamic timer progression
  • Player feedback systems

Technologies

  • Unreal Engine 5
  • Blueprint Visual Scripting
  • Blueprint Interfaces
  • Gameplay Framework
  • AI Navigation
  • Procedural Systems
  • Modular Gameplay Systems

No installation is required, just run the .exe inside the folder and enjoy!
